Fall is a great time of year to visit Las Vegas. The weather is perfect with sunny days averaging from 85 in early October to 77 later in the month. Evening temps range from the mid-60′s to mid-50′s offering a nice respite from the warmer days. Fall in the city also offers visitors a terrific opportunity to take advantage of the nice weather and indulge in some of the top things to do in Vegas.  A visit to Hoover Dam is big on everyone’s list and this year it is especially interesting as sight-seers will be able to view progress on the new bridge that will route traffic over the dam.  The complex web of cranes and pulleys that has been constructed in order to build the dam is absolutely mind-boggling!

Another popular activity for Las Vegas visitors is a trip with “Pink Jeep Tours” to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.  Only minutes from the Strip, Red Rock has scenery so dramatic that it’s often selected as the backdrop for movies and commercials. Along the 13-mile scenic drive you’ll see the impressive Wilson Cliffs, part of the 65-million-year-old Keystone Thrust. (Be sure to take your camera for great shots of the fossilized sand dunes that make up the brilliantly colored Calico Hills.)
