Bellagio Christmas display is a fab freebie

No list of “Best FREE Things to Do in Las Vegas” would be complete without a nod to the fabulous gardens at the Bellagio. The luxe hotel’s famous Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is by far one of Steve Wynn’s best ideas in casino design/visitor attractions. (We don’t know if it was his idea but since he was ultimately responsible for approving it, we’ll give him the credit.)

Located just off the lobby’s registration area, the Bellagio gardens are a huge draw for Vegas visitors — we’re talking both first-timers and seasoned Vegas travelers — because of the seasonal changes that take place in the glass-domed space. This time of year is our absolute favorite because of the over-the-top Christmas decorations. Sparkling trees? Check. Gargantuan ornaments? Check. Stunning glittering tree with flying reindeer and electric train? Check, check and check.

Be sure to include a stop at the Bellagio gardens if you’re in town this holiday season. We can’t think of a better “Vegas Value” than this free holiday-mood-inducing display. And don’t forget your camera. (It made us so ho-ho-happy that we’re using a photo we took as our website background for this month.)

Las Vegas Restaurant Week 2009 – dine at a discount for a great cause

Definitely falling into the best restaurant deals in Las Vegas category is the third annual “Las Vegas Restaurant Week.” More than 50 top restaurants in Las Vegas will be participating in this national charitable event. Diners will be able to choose from select fixed price menu deals at each of the participating restaurants and be treated to some of the City’s best cuisine for set prices $20.09, $30.09 or $50.09. A portion of the proceeds from the week’s sales will be donated to Three Square Food Bank, a partner organization of Feeding America working to end hunger in Southern Nevada.

Restaurants will no doubt be busy so make your reservations early. There are no “tickets” required but these top Las Vegas dining spots will fill up quickly so call the restaurants of your choice now to secure your seat at the table!
